Roundtable Discussion: “I Put a Spell on You”

By  |

Join us while we discuss the episode “I Put a Spell on You” with the following format, BITE: B(ad) I(nteresting) T(oo much) E(verything else)

The Midnighters join forces to protect a newcomer in town; Fiji’s forced to take desperate action to save Bobo; Patience and Manfred bond over their relationship troubles.

BAD

Roz: Fiji what did you do! Putting a tincture in Bobo’s drink to make him forget is one bad bad move. (Yes, this storyline to me gets both the B and T this week for related issues.)

Lisa: *Sigh* Fiji, Fiji, Fiji! I’m with Roz. Trying to erase Bobo’s memories of her was a bad move and it didn’t work. Now he is a dog!

Leah: Oh Fiji. What the ever loving……No! Just…no!

INTERESTING

Roz: Mary’s such a compelling idea for a character – a hormonal weretiger with so many issues. I wish that there had been a better way to use a weretiger and a crazed woman who runs a fight ring.

Lisa: Watching Olivia explore her maternal side was very interesting to me. I really enjoyed seeing the softer side of her. She would be one kick-ass Mama! I also, enjoyed the Weretiger plotline. More of that please!

Leah: Olivia is a caregiver of sorts. She is always there for her friends, so seeing it translate into motherhood was cool. I’ll third the Weretiger.

 TOO MUCH

Roz: Wow, I was not expecting to hear “I’ll Be” unironically in the year 2018, but that was what Bobo did. There’s no way to be John Cusack in Say Anything now. Bobo has a point about this end to their relationship, though Fiji should have been more honest with him for the whys.

Lisa: I definitely think Fiji is doing too much trying to make Bobo forget her. She needs to focus on trying to find a way to break the spell or just tell him the proof. I fear that she is digging a bigger hole for her and Bobo if she keeps up her behavior.

Leah: Everything Roz and Lisa said above. Everything!

EVERYTHING ELSE

Roz: So this is why you use Jaime Ray Newman! She’s a great character actress to put into a awkward situation to help Manfred.

Lisa: Patience and Manny! I knew it wouldn’t take long for them to get frisky. How is Kai going to react when he finds out? Manny needs to be careful, I don’t trust either one of them.
