Scarier! Sexier! Soapier! Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder Talk Midnight, Texas Season 2!

By  |

Happy premiere week, Midnighters! We have some goodies to share this week, including our interviews from Comic Con with the cast and (new) creative team behind Midnight, Texas. We’re kicking things off with executive producers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder who took over the show for season 2.

Eric and Nicole are enthusiastic about leading the second season of the series. It sounds like they’re building on what happened in season 1 – that super-fast run through the novels – but there isn’t much from books to cover so we’re in for a more original storyline this year.

Highlights

  • Eric and Nicole previously worked on Supernatural, so they’re excited to bring some of that sensibility to Midnight.
  • Should Chuy be worried about newcomer Walker’s interest in Joe? “I would be worried. Look at him!” Nicole laughs.
  • They’re expanding the universe by introducing new types of supernatural characters.
  • The episodes are somewhat thematic – look for one about family, one about healing, etc.
  • Both of them have read the novels more than once and found them to be inspirational as a jumping off point to tell their own story.
  • Season 2 is scarier, sexier, soapier, and more salacious!

Midnight, Texas season 2 premieres Friday, October 26 at 9/8c on NBC.

I'm a looooong time fan of Charlaine Harris and her novels. In 2008, I launched the first and (what became) largest True Blood fansite at True-Blood.net. When I heard that Midnight, Texas was in development back in January 2016, I immediately started planning a new fansite and eagerly awaited the show's premiere. Welcome!
