MIDNIGHT, TEXAS Season 2 UK Premiere, New Guest Stars, & More!

As the premiere of Midnight, Texas nears, we have lots of news to share. Let’s get to it!

Midnight, Texas UK Premiere

Good news, UK Midnighters! The second season of Midnight, Texas will premiere on Thursday, November 1 at 9PM on SYFY UK.

New Guest Stars

NBC released information about a slew of guest stars for season 2, providing plenty of fodder for speculation. We’ll meet Olivia’s father and find out if he’s as bad as we think he is; a new colleague for Manfred; a pizza delivery boy with a dark secret; and new members of a witches coven.

Michael Harney (“Orange Is the New Black”) as Philip Charity – Olivia’s estranged father, who seems like the perfect all-American dad, but is actually bitterly estranged from Olivia, whom he abandoned when she was just 9 years old.

Mindy Sterling (“The Goldbergs”) as Kiva Goldwater – With a smoker’s voice and a bedazzled eye patch covering her missing eye, she is a gypsy shaman, an expert when it comes to curses. She’s willing to work with Manfred, but on her terms.

Adam Langdon (“Moe & Jerryweather”) as Basil – An affable, geeky pizza delivery boy with a deep appreciation for the Rubik’s cube… and a dark secret.

Jasmine Cephas Jones (“Hamilton,” “Girls”) as Addie – A devotee and member of the Delilahs who stands out among her peers. When her snooty “country club” brother and sister witches turn their backs on our heroes, Addie comes to the rescue. She delves into black magic to help save Midnight, Texas from its enemies.

Jaime Murray (“Once Upon a Time”) as Delilah – The original “White Witch.”

Nick Lee (“Reign”) as Theophilus – One of the Original Witches and founders of Black Magic.

Can we just talk about Addie (Jasmine Cephas Jones) for a minute? Look at that character description – apparently there are “snooty” “country club” witches who want nothing to do with Midnighters. That sounds like fun. Also, does anyone else think turning to black magic is a good idea? Anyone?

More Charlaine Harris TV

At New York Comic Con last weekend, Charlaine Harris revealed that she has two more book series optioned for television shows. One is the Harper Connelly series (my personal favorite), which has already gone through at least two attempts at developing it for television. It’s a complicated story to put on screen, partially because it has some less-than-savory relationships. I’m guessing one of the streaming services is trying to develop it this time.

The second potential TV series is based on Charlaine’s newest book, An Easy Death, the first book in the new Gunnie Rose series. Set in a fractured United States, where magic is acknowledged but mistrusted, this is an alternative history/supernatural series. No word on which outlet is developing this one.

More news plus interviews and other goodies to come!

I'm a looooong time fan of Charlaine Harris and her novels. In 2008, I launched the first and (what became) largest True Blood fansite at True-Blood.net. When I heard that Midnight, Texas was in development back in January 2016, I immediately started planning a new fansite and eagerly awaited the show's premiere. Welcome!
