Roundtable Discussion: “Resting Witch Face”

By  |

Join us while we discuss the episode “Resting Witch Face” with the following format, BITE: B(ad) I(nteresting) T(oo much) E(verything else)

Manfred vows revenge; Joe squares off against a former ally to save his husband; Fiji spends a night on the town; and Kai gives Patience an ultimatum.

BAD

Lisa: Dark Fiji is sooooo bad! Oh my goodness where is our sweet Fiji? This woman is awful! And if that isn’t bad enough, Patience is the worst! I never trusted her but I did not think she was the ultimate villain. That was a twist I didn’t see coming!

Leah: The whole Walker storyline. It lead to Chuy’s death? Are you kidding me? A thousand years together and Joe killed him? To save Walker? I am extremely unhappy with the whole thing.

Mel: I KNEW PATIENCE WAS EVIL! That Southern accent and innocent act were just that – an act. I hate that she got Fiji to do her dirty work, though. When the real Fiji returns, she’s going to be devastated about what her powers have wrought.

INTERESTING

Lisa: I thought it was strange that Manny couldn’t sense anything wrong with the necklace Patience gave him. With his psychic powers, wouldn’t he be able to feel the evil attached to the necklace? I thought that was odd.

Leah: I’ll second that. Gypsy spirit reader my ass. Even if he couldn’t sense something in Patience he should have sensed the amulet.

Mel: I feel like we’re seeing the limits of Manfred’s psychic abilities here. He probably did sense some magic, but couldn’t discern exactly what it was because that’s not his skillset. I’m curious to see Manfred and Kai team up against Patience now. Learning the truth about his wife is a paradigm shift for Kai!

TOO MUCH

Lisa: RIP Chuy! I can’t believe he died. It was heartbreaking! I wasn’t ready for that sadness.

Leah: Kai’s blind acceptance of what Patience told him all those years ago. He could have done some research!

Mel: NOOOO! NOT CHUY! I mean, I get it that Demon!Chuy couldn’t be allowed to roam free, mutilating and killing at random, but his loss of control is Joe’s fault and I hate that. This whole storyline stinks.

EVERYTHING ELSE

Lisa: Things are always crazy in Midnight but this episode was over the top! Fiji and Patience vs. everyone else is going to be very interesting. Dark Fiji and her white streak need to go! I’m so ready for the real Fiji to come back.

Leah: This whole episode was a lot. They are definitely ramping up to a big showdown.

Mel: This season has been a huge improvement over season 1, to the extent that even this bonkers showdown that’s brewing feels big and exciting in ways that last season’s didn’t. I’m in!
